Job Overview
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pool Manager to oversee the daily operations of our facility. The Pool Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all pool patrons, managing staff, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and functionality. This is a seasonal position starting from the beginning of May until the end of September. Job Description
The Pool Manager will:
- Supervise all aquatic facility operations, including the supervision of lifeguards, swim instructors, and maintenance staff.
- Ensure the safety of all pool users by enforcing rules and regulations and responding to emergencies promptly and effectively.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive schedule of aquatic programs, including swim lessons, swim meets and recreational swimming.
- Monitor water quality and maintain pool equipment to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Manage the pool budget, including purchasing supplies, and scheduling employees.
- Hire, train, and evaluate pool staff to ensure a high level of performance and customer service.
- Plan and coordinate special events and activities to promote the pool and its programs.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and courteous manner alongside the City Manager.
- Coordinating with different entities regarding events to be scheduled.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding aquatic facilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the City Manager.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Prior experience in aquatic facility management or a similar management role.
- Current certification in Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, and AED.
- Strong knowledge of pool maintenance, including water chemistry and filtration systems.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with a strong commitment to providing a positive experience for all pool users.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software programs.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification, or willing to obtain.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Ability to swim and perform water rescues as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a hot and humid environment.
